Victorian Government offers last uncontracted land parcel at Docklands
In the News - Victoria

PLANNING Minister Matthew Guy has called for Registrations of Interest (ROI) to develop the last remaining uncontracted land parcel in Melbourne's Docklands precinct

The two hectare site, with a Collins Street address, also includes a Flinders Street frontage and air rights above Wurundjeri Way.

Mr Guy said the sale of the last parcel of uncontracted land in Docklands reflects the importance of the Coalition's vision for urban renewal opportunities, such as at Fishermans Bend and Port Melbourne.

The Minister said that Docklands has already attracted $7 billion of private investment and accommodates a growing community of around 6,500 residents and 22,000 workers.

VicUrban's acting CEO, Sam Sangster, said the continued development at Docklands would make it become "a world class waterfront destination", with the precinct expected to have attracted more than $15 billion of private investment upon completion.

Registrations of Interest will close on 22 March 2011.
