ARRIVING to govern Queensland from Rockhampton today for the next three days, Premier Anna Bligh unveiled concept plans for the next stage of the Riverbank Redevelopment.

Ms Bligh said the government was working with Rockhampton Regional Council to finalise the stage three plans.

Draft Toowoomba planning scheme released for public consultation

A DRAFT planning scheme for Toowoomba – the first in Queensland to be aligned with the Queensland Planning Provisions – was officially launched last week by Deputy Premier and Minister for Local Government Paul Lucas for public consultation.

Mr Lucas said the Toowoomba Regional Council is the first of 73 local governments in the state to launch a draft local planning scheme exemplifying the QPPs, introduced by the Sustainable Planning Act (SPA) in 2009.

Cairns foreshore redevelopment unveiled

CAIRNS is to get a major new entertainment, tourism and leisure precinct, as part of a $23.3 million project to redevelop the Port of Cairns foreshore, Acting Premier Paul Lucas announced last week.
