Feedback sought on development plans for Eastlakes Shopping Centre
In the News - New South Wales

A PROPOSAL for a mixed-use development at Eastlakes in Sydney's eastern suburbs has been placed on public exhibition by the New South Wales Department of Planning and Infrastructure.

The proponent, Crown Prosha Joint Venture, is seeking concept plan approval to allow residential, commercial and retail development at the Eastlakes Shopping Centre at Evans Avenue and Barber Street in Eastlakes.

According to the Department, the proposal incorporates plans for a ground floor retail podium and 12 residential buildings (two to eight storeys in height above the podium), comprising:

  • A ground floor retail area of 12,440 square metres;
  • 361 residential apartments;
  • 82 serviced apartments;
  • Basement parking;
  • Associated landscaping and infrastructure works; and
  • Changed access arrangements.

The environmental assessment for the project will be on public exhibition until Friday 31 August 2012 and the Department has called for interested members of the public to lodge submissions providing feedback during this time.
